Coming soon: Fall 2026 Pilot Projects Program call for applications
PAC-AID will soon announce a call for applications for the Fall 2026 cycle of its Pilot Projects Program — and we want investigators across Hawaiʻi and the Pacific to be ready.
The program funds innovative early-stage projects that apply artificial intelligence and data science to human health in Hawaiʻi and the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands. What sets a PAC-AID pilot apart is that the award is more than funding: each project is paired with hands-on access to the Center’s people, data, and computing — the MEDAI Core as an embedded technical team for AI/ML, large-language-model, and imaging work; Hawaiʻi’s first biomedical AI data center; curated, representative datasets spanning the many ethnicities of Hawaiʻi and the Pacific; and mentoring aimed at building toward NIH/NCI funding.
We especially encourage early-stage investigators and proposals that foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and address the needs of our catchment area.
